Videos are magnets of huge interests and traffic. There’s no
doubt in that and so you must not have a doubt to in putting video elements in
your website.
“A website is not a website without a video”, a popular saying
goes, and the saying simply states the importance of using videos in social
media marketing. In this era, when the lifestyle of the world turned digital,
one element is not enough to please the crowd. It has to be the combination of
different components to enhance the interaction within your site and to boost
the loyalty of the audience. The creativity must always be present to prove
your skill and including videos, is a choice you will never regret.
It is said that still images are considered powerful
elements of a website in attracting users. So what is more with videos?
There are two major kinds of communication: verbal and
non-verbal. Verbal means the use of words whether it is spoken or it is written
while non-verbal means the language of touch. Among the studies, the most
effective form of communication between the two is non-verbal. Emotions are
best shown through actions. Now the relationship of non-verbal communication is
important in social media marketing through the use of videos because you are
reaching out to audience and bringing them a particular message.
The principle of KISS (Keep It Short and Simple) is widely
used and accepted in creating contents, especially on social media. People
prefer contents that are unique and snappy, and you can’t achieve them by
settling on the same type of elements. Texts are not engaging for others, and
so videos are perfect for attracting more users. A demonstrative procedure on
something may need pages to write; but when it is transformed into videos, seconds
or minutes are all you need! When it comes to articles, blogs or other types of
text contents, people don’t want to just rely on their imaginations, but do
want to see something that is close to reality.
Moreover, the closest thing present is the video. For
example, you are from a publishing company and you are promoting the
new-released books, it is better that you discuss in front of a camera than put
your agenda in long, plain paragraphs. In relation to the effectiveness of
non-verbal communication, people find it more convincing when they see you
speak with all the actions you make. With the facial expressions, gesture and
mannerisms they can assess if you are credible and not just sharing some
flowery message. Your message becomes clearer and more “real”.
Aside from bringing your message to life, a video is a
combination of all elements. It contains visuals, including still images,
sounds and texts. That is why Google has procured YouTube because it is evident
that videos have a strong appeal to most of the people. However, you just don’t
make use of any available videos. They must go through
content moderation to assure that it is spread around the world
possessing a worldwide acceptance because of its appropriateness and substance.
Videos are good to keep when they receive remarks that will help to make them
known,
but not of disgust and fear.
Article by Linda Mix who creates mixed media artworks and
media art. By examining the ambiguity and origination via retakes and
variations, Mix plays with the idea of the mortality of an artwork confronted
with the power of a transitory appearance, which is, by being restricted in
time, much more intense.
